Where is the Lamb
by Laivy Hart
“Where is the lamb for the offering?”
Isaac asked, and a deep silence fell.
His father answered, “God will provide the lamb,”
And the mountain was covered in clouds.
Between the fire and the wood,
The two of them walked together.
And behold, a ram was caught in the thicket,
And he offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
Where is the lamb? Where is the lamb?
Where is the lamb? Have You heard my cry?
Where is the lamb? Where is the lamb?
Beyond the mountains, will You find me?
Where is the lamb? Where is the lamb?
With all our hearts, we are still waiting for You.
Where is the lamb? Where is the lamb?
When will You return and take away the pain?
We have all wandered like sheep,
Each of us has turned to his own way.
Israel, a scattered flock,
Between exile and the shadows.
Beyond the mountains, beyond the sea,
We are still waiting for the light to come from there.
With every heart and every prayer,
We still await redemption.
I have wandered like a lost sheep.
Seek Your servant.
My voice rises, and my heart trembles.
Do not abandon me; I am in Your hands.
Still, through the night, I wait,
And with my tears, I will not let go.
My voice reaches You from far away,
And my heart knows that You hear me.
And on that day, a great shofar will be sounded.
The ram's horn from the Binding will sound its call once more.
Those who were lost will return,
Those who were cast away,
And the gates will open for them.
Like a shepherd, He will tend His flock.
With His arm, He will gather the lambs,
And carry them close to His heart.
And carry them close to His heart.
Those who were cast away will return with joy,
Those who were scattered will find rest.
The voice we have awaited through all the nights
Will embrace our hearts with love and wipe away our tears.
With His arm, He will gather the lambs,
And carry them close to His heart.
And carry them close to His heart.
And carry them close to His heart.
And carry them close to His heart.
