The moon disappears and the night stays empty, but in the heavens they know the light still holds. Just a moment she's hidden, just a moment without a sound, and out of the darkness she returns to grow again.
And we're the same way — small in the night — but the covenant is still alive, and the road still climbs.
And to the moon He said: renew yourself, a crown of glory for those He carried from the womb, for they too are destined to be renewed like her, and to glorify their Maker for His glorious kingship.
Rosh Chodesh whispers to us that no light is ever truly lost. Even if home feels far, the heart still stands, not alone. From Zion a voice still calls us, an ancient voice and a new voice — not just to start over, but to return to the Mikdash.
Because what was once ours is never taken away forever, and whatever is still missing will yet return in complete mercy.
And to the moon He said: renew yourself, a crown of glory for those He carried from the womb, for they too are destined to be renewed like her, and to glorify their Maker for His glorious kingship.
Prepare a new altar in Zion, and let us bring up the Rosh Chodesh offering upon it. Bring them everlasting love, and remember the covenant of the fathers for the children.
Bring us in mercy to the bond that was never broken, to the light of Rosh Chodesh, to the home that's still waiting — not to some distant dream, not to an old memory, but to the future You promised, to the love that was always here.
And to the moon He said: renew yourself, a crown of glory for those He carried from the womb, for they too are destined to be renewed like her, and to glorify their Maker for His glorious kingship.
