The Glow of Silence

by Laivy Hart

Sometimes the greatest act of strength isn't finding the perfect words, it's having the wisdom to leave them unspoken.

Not every truth needs a voice.
Not every pain needs to come out.
Some words come to burn,
some silence comes to heal.
The body wants to answer back,
the heart wants to have the last word.
But whoever holds his tongue
saves a world without ever announcing it.

And this isn't the silence of weakness, and it isn't fear of the fight.
It's a strength that stands at the door and won't let the fire write.

The whole world stands on a mouth that stayed closed,
on a heart that burned inside and chose not to scream.
A word could have broken it, silence could have built it,
and a light created in secret shines between the silences.

How many times did I stand there with the answer on my tongue,
how many times did I know I was right first.
I had something to fire back, I had a way to win,
but the body found its healing when the mouth learned to rest.

Because wisdom without boundaries is a spirit without a home,
and speech without restraint leaves the heart bare.

The whole world stands on a mouth that stayed closed,
on a heart that burned inside and chose not to scream.
A word could have broken it, silence could have built it,
and a light created in secret shines between the silences.

When my honor shouts and anger wants the floor,
I learn to be mute until the heat passes.
Not mute from Torah, not silent about truth —
just mute from the pride that wants to burn its way out.

If one word is worth something when said at the right time,
then a silence that hurt no one is worth twice as much to the soul.

Master of the world, help me guard my mouth
when I want to hurt, when I want to prove who I am.
Let me hold back the wind, let me choose quiet,
let me be a hero where no one is watching.

Because there's a light you can't see with eyes made of dust,
and there's a reward for a single moment no creature could estimate.
When the world says speak and the heart says answer,
the silence rises up and returns light to the soul.

The whole world stands on a mouth that stayed closed,
on a heart that burned inside and chose not to scream.
A word could have broken it, silence could have built it,
and a light created in secret shines between the silences.

Not every truth needs a voice, not every pain needs to come out.
Some words come to burn, some silence comes to heal.
